At my consultation with Dr Birtle, she was very caring, thorough & understanding. She clearly explained my current medical condition & laid out her proposals to treat me. She did this extremely well explaining the critical path & what was required of me during the process. I drew great comfort & inspiration from her attitude & I am delighted she is my consultant.

Dr Birtle was confident and clear when she explained my condition and treatment. She took plenty of time and made me feel relaxed. She answered all of my queries and helped me to understand what the next stage was and how I could cope with any after affects. I feel like I can contact her with any concerns I may have.

I cannot thank Dr Birtle enough for the 110% care and attention she has given to my dad over the past few years. Dad was diagnosed with prostate cancer over 10 years ago and was petrified of hospitals and all things associated with them...... until he met Dr Birtle. So much so that he really looked forward to going to see her for his regular checkups etc. This gave our family a great deal of confidence that dad was being looked after to the highest possible degree as things were explained to him on his level and not ‘souped-up’. Dad didn’t suffer fools gladly, and didn’t like the wool pulled over his eyes. Dr Birtle’s knowledge and expertise gave dad a great deal of quality to his life during the latter years but unfortunately dad passed away recently but ironically not due to his prostate cancer. This dear Dr is an Angel in disguise and deserves 100% support and backing to be able to carry on with the excellent work she carries out on a daily basis.

I was discharged from the oncology department this week, having been under the care of Dr Birtle for the last 10 years. During this time she has always given me the best of care and I would trust her decisions implicitly.
